Allen Bradley Guardmaster 440K-C21061 Cadet 3 Safety-Rated Interlock Switch

Safeguard personnel and keep your machine processes running smoothly with the 440K Cadet 3 Safety Interlock Switch by Allen Bradley Guardmaster.

This interlock switch has unique compact housing with fixing centres, offering ease-of-mounting. It can be operated by inserting a specially profile stainless-steel key which is permanently fixed to the guard door. The 440K safety switches provide cost-effective, secure electrical interlocking of the safety guard to the machine’s control circuit. This interlock device is highly suitable for use with hinged, sliding, and lift-off machine guards and is designed to be fitted at the leading edge of the door.

The 440K-C21061 has Break Before Make action (opens the first set of contacts before closing new contacts) and features 2NC Safety Contacts and 1NO Auxiliary. It is comprised of durable UL approved glass filled PBT. The actuator type is 90° and is made of stainless-steel. This switch has M16 conduit entry, a thermal current of 10A, and a rated insulation voltage of 500V. The operating temperature is –20 to +80 °C (-4…+176 °F). This versatile switch has dual entry slots and the head can be rotated to enable up to 8 actuator entry points. A blanking plug is also supplied for the unused key entry.

Features and Benefits:

• Simplified mounting due to industry standard fixing centers to DIN 50047

• Forced guided contacts

• Compact, space-saving housing is 90.5 x 31 x 30.4 mm (3.56 x 1.22 x 1.19 in.)

• Perfectly suited for use with small, lightweight guards, particularly useful for light duty sliding and small radii hinged machine guards (60mm or 2.36in) due to semi-flexible key

• Environmentally sealed to IP67 – no ingress of dust and can withstand temporary immersion in water

• Dual entry and rotational head, eight possible actuator entry points, easy to install

Note:

This device can be used with GuardLink, a new safety linking technology from Allen Bradley Guardmaster. GuardLink simplifies and reduces the connection time of the safety system, whilst providing real-time diagnostic information over Ethernet IP. This makes it simple to identify the location of the device that has tripped the system, thus reducing downtime, and improving the machines overall efficiency. For more details, please go to the GuardLink brochure.

What is a Safety Interlock Switch?

A safety interlock switch is a device which keeps guard doors and gates securely locked to prevent access to areas where dangerous machinery may be in operation, minimalising the risk of injury to personnel and damage to machinery. They can also be used to monitor the status of the machine guard, and to ensure that machinery cannot start up or run while the guard door is open. They are often utilised in industrial applications, such as safeguarding factory production lines. They can vary in lock type, maximum current and voltage, and housing material. Safety-rated interlock switches are specifically designed to meet high safety standards. Allen Bradley Guardmaster switches are built to global standards to provide exceptional quality and reliability.
