Allen Bradley Guardmaster - Trojan 5 Safety Interlock Switches

Give your machine guard door a safety upgrade with the Trojan™ 5 Safety Switches by Allen Bradley Guardmaster.

The Trojan 5 switches are universal tongue (or key) operated interlock switches which prevent access to hazardous areas where machinery may be in motion. They have dual key entry slots and rotatable heads, which can be moved by releasing the cover screws, and offer four actuator entry options. They are designed to fit the leading edge of sliding, hinged or lift-off guards. They are easy to install and are operated by inserting a specially-profiled stainless steel key that is permanently attached to the leading edge of the guard door. The actuator is tamper resistant and will only operate when mounted to the guard, ensuring optimal security and stability.

These switches have 3 sets of contacts: 1 NO (Normally Open) / 2 NC (Normally Closed). They are sealed to IP67, making them suitable for use in wet environments where machinery is regularly washed down. They are also fully protected against ingress of dust. All switches come with an actuator.

Cat. 1 device per EN 954-1 dual channel interlocks suitable for Cat. 3 or 4 systems.

Forced guided contacts - complies with EN 1088, IEC 947-5-1

What is a Safety Interlock Switch?

A safety interlock switch is a device which keeps guard doors and gates securely locked to prevent access to areas where dangerous machinery may be in operation, minimalising the risk of injury to personnel and damage to machinery. They can also be used to monitor the status of the machine guard, and to ensure that machinery cannot start up or run while the guard door is open. They are often utilised in industrial applications, such as safeguarding factory production lines. They can vary in lock type, maximum current and voltage, and housing material. Safety-rated interlock switches are specifically designed to meet high safety standards. Allen Bradley Guardmaster switches are built to global standards to provide exceptional quality and reliability.

Note

This safety device can be used with Guardlink, a new safety linking technology from Allen Bradley Guardmaster.
Guardlink simplifies and reduces the connection time of the safety system, whilst providing real-time diagnostic information over Ethernet IP. This makes it simple to identify the location of the device that has tripped the safety system, thus reducing downtime, and improving the machines overall efficiency. For more details, please go to the Guardlink brochure.
