Allen Bradley Guardmaster 440K-T11147 Trojan 5 GD2 Safety-Rated Interlock Switch – For Demanding Applications

Make protection of personnel the highest priority in your workplace and secure your machine processes with the 440K Trojan 5 GD2 Safety-Rated Interlock Switch by Allen Bradley Guardmaster. This switch is ideal for use in harsher and more demanding applications due to its durable metal head.

The Trojan 5 GD2 is a tongue operated safety interlock device that is highly versatile. It features dual key entry slots and a rotatable head, which can be moved by releasing the cover screws and offers up to 4 actuator entry points. To operate this safety switch the specially profiled stainless-steel key, permanently fixed to the leading edge of the guard door, must be inserted into the switch. It is ideal for use with hinged, sliding, and lift-off machine safety barriers. The 440K safety switches provide affordable and secure electrical interlocking of the safety guard to the control circuit of the machine.

The 440K-T11147 door interlock switch has Break Before Make Action and 2 Normally Closed Safety Contacts, 1 Normally Open Auxiliary Contact. It comes with the GD2 Style Metal Head and the housing material is made of resilient UL approved glass filled polyester. It has an operating temperature of -20°C to +80°C (-4°F to +176°F). This switch has a rated insulation voltage of 500V, a thermal current of 10A, and M20 conduit entry. It is environmentally sealed to IP67, which means that it is fully protected against ingress of dust and can withstand temporary immersion in water. This makes it well suited for use in harsh industrial environments.

This device can be used with GuardLink, a new safety linking technology from Allen Bradley Guardmaster. GuardLink simplifies and reduces the connection time of the safety system, whilst providing real-time diagnostic information over Ethernet IP. This makes it simple to identify the location of the device that has tripped the system, thus reducing downtime, and improving the machines overall efficiency. For more details, please go to the GuardLink brochure.

What is a Safety Interlock Switch?

A safety interlock switch is a device which keeps guard doors and gates securely locked to prevent access to areas where dangerous machinery may be in operation, minimalising the risk of injury to personnel and damage to machinery. They can also be used to monitor the status of the machine guard, and to ensure that machinery cannot start up or run while the guard door is open. They are often utilised in industrial settings, such as safeguarding factory production lines. They can vary in lock type, maximum current and voltage, and housing material. Safety-rated interlock switches are specifically designed to meet high machine safety standards. Allen Bradley Guardmaster switches are built to global standards to provide exceptional quality and reliability.
