440K-MT55039 Safety Switch

The 440K-MT55039 MT-GD2 latch release tongue interlock unit has 3NC safety contacts and 1NO auxiliary contact. It has Break Before Make Action and M20 conduit entry.

This device can be used with Guardlink, a new linking technology from Allen Bradley Guardmaster. Guardlink simplifies and reduces the connection time of the safety system, whilst providing real-time diagnostic information over Ethernet IP. This makes it simple to identify the location of the device that has tripped the system, thus reducing downtime, and improving the machines overall efficiency. For more details, please go to the Guardlink brochure.

How does a Safety Interlock Switch work?

Safety interlock switches work by securely locking guard doors and gates, preventing unsafe access to hazardous areas where machinery may be in operation. This helps to decrease the risk of injury to personnel and damage to equipment. They can also be used to monitor the status of the guard, and to ensure that machinery cannot start up or run while the guard door is open. They are often utilised in industrial applications, such as safeguarding factory production lines. They can vary in lock type, maximum current and voltage, and housing material. These interlock switches are specifically designed to meet high standards of protection.

Rockwell Automation is a global leader in industrial automation and digital transformation, and brings smart manufacturing to life. With a long legacy of creating Allen-Bradley® integrated control and information solutions, we help make you as productive as possible. Our portfolio of sensing, safety and motor control products can support your move towards smart machine applications. Allen-Bradley® IO-Link sensors are data-enabled and communicate with all field buses, providing diagnostic and health information about the device before a machine stops, and enabling quick production changeovers through fast parameter downloads from PLCs into the device. This reduces machine downtime and increases manufacturing OEE. For safety components, products with built-in diagnostics simplify the set-up of the smart device, and reduce maintenance, leading to a more efficient, machine data-driven approach.

Allen Bradley Guardmaster 400K MT-GD2 Tongue Safety Interlock Switch, Latch Release

Enhance your machine guard with the MT-GD2 latch release safety interlocks by Allen Bradley Guardmaster.

These switches have dual entry slots and a rotatable head, which provides up to 8 actuator entry points. The latch release mechanism allows the actuator to be retained in the switch until the release mechanism is manually activated by pulling the latch button. The button can be re-positioned on any face. The MT-GD2 units include forced guided contacts and the head is fitted with tamper-resistant screws.

These versatile guard-locking safety switches are ideally suited for hinged, lift-off, and sliding doors and should be fitted at the leading edge. They ensure superior protection for equipment and personnel by helping to prevent unsafe access to hazardous areas where machinery may be in motion.

Features and Benefits:

• Rotatable head with 8 possible actuator entry options

• Combines latch facility with safety switch for extra protection

• Robust painted zinc die-cast housing for optimal durability

• IP67 rated – dust-proof and water-resistant

• Industry standard fixing centers to DIN/EN50041

• Prevents unwanted machine shutdown caused by guard door opening (e.g. vibration)

• Latch button can be re-positioned on site to 8 optional places

Note: Actuator is not supplied and must be ordered separately

Standards: Conforms to EN 1088, EN 60947-5-1, EN 60204-1, EN 292, EN 50041
