Allen Bradley Guardmaster 440K-T11467 Trojan 5 Safety-Rated Interlock Switch

Experience superior guard interlocking for machinery and protect personnel from entering hazardous areas with the Trojan 5 Tongue Interlock Safety Switch by Allen Bradley Guardmaster.

This versatile safety switch features dual key entry slots and a rotatable head, which can be moved by releasing the cover screws and offers up to 4 actuator entry points. It is highly tamper-resistant as it incorporates a self-ejecting mechanism to prevent use of the switch if the actuator is not mounted to the door. It is perfectly suited for use with hinged, sliding, and lift-off guards. This interlock device can be operated through the use of a specially profiled stainless-steel key which is permanently fixed to the leading edge of the machine guard door. The 440K safety switches provide cost-effective, secure electrical interlocking of the safety guard to the machine’s control circuit.

The 440K-T11467 tongue interlock switch has Break Before Make Action, a fully-flex actuator, and 2NC Safety/1NO Auxiliary Contacts. The conduit entry is M20 and it has an operating temperature of -20°C to +80°C (-4°F to +176°F). The actuator is made of stainless-steel for excellent durability, while the housing material is comprised of resilient UL approved glass filled polyester. This switch has a rated insulation voltage of 500V and a thermal current of 10A. It has a high ingress protection rating of IP67, which means that it can withstand temporary immersion in water and is also dust-tight, making it suitable for use in harsh industrial environments.

Features and Benefits:

• Easy installation

• Rotatable head allowing 4 possible actuator entry positions, for greater application flexibility

• Self-ejecting tamper resistant actuator that operates only when mounted to the guard

• Forced guided contacts

• BBM (Break Before Make) action switch – opens the first set of contacts before closing new contacts

• Durable and versatile - can be used in most applications

Note:

This device can be used with GuardLink, a new safety linking technology from Allen Bradley Guardmaster. GuardLink simplifies and reduces the connection time of the safety system, whilst providing real-time diagnostic information over Ethernet IP. This makes it simple to identify the location of the device that has tripped the system, thus reducing downtime, and improving the machines overall efficiency. For more details, please go to the GuardLink brochure.

What is a Safety Interlock Switch?

A safety interlock switch is a device which keeps guard doors and gates securely locked to prevent access to areas where dangerous machinery may be in operation, minimising the risk of injury to personnel and damage to machinery. They can also be used to monitor the status of the machine guard, and to ensure that machinery cannot start up or run while the guard door is open. They are often utilised in industrial applications, such as safeguarding factory production lines. They can vary in lock type, maximum current and voltage, and housing material. Safety-rated interlock switches are specifically designed to meet high machine safety standards. Allen Bradley Guardmaster switches are built to global standards to provide exceptional quality and reliability.
