What are the advantages of air-powered tools over traditional electric power tools?

Pneumatic tools are usually more lightweight and easier to manoeuvre. Air tools are safer to use in a wider range of conditions, and therefore more versatile. Pneumatic tools often offer considerably more punch and torque than electrical versions on tougher jobs, especially compared to cordless electric varieties. Air tools tend to feature far simpler design mechanics than electric power equivalents, for enhanced user-friendliness. Pneumatic tools are often more reliable in long-term use, with very low malfunction rates for common electrical tool problems such as overheating or short-circuiting. Fewer moving parts usually mean longer life and less maintenance required. Compressed air is an extremely reliable source of clean, dry power in a wide range of environments and application types. Compressed air is easy to move between many different locations and types of work sites, including hazardous or underground locations, damp or wet conditions, and around combustible materials. Air tools are often cheaper to buy than electric versions, while the overall cost of setting up a pneumatic system to run them will inevitably add some initial expense, their lower power draw and reduced need for frequent maintenance/parts replacement makes them considerably more economical in the long run.
