Eaton Bussmann Series Red Spot™ Range, Type 'T' HBC Fuses

The Red Spot range of offset slotted fuses (or bolted tag fuses) from Eaton Bussmann is specifically designed for the protection of general industrial applications such as power distribution, cable protection and motor protection. Available in BS88 British Standard fuse sizes from A1 to A4, offset slotted and bolted fuses are suitable for general purpose rating (gG) and dual motor rating (gM) motor protection types.

Features and Benefits

• 2 to 200 A rated current
• Breaking capacity 80 kA up to 690 V ac
• Type A1 rated up to 550 V ac/ 250 V dc
• Type A2 rated up to 660 V ac / 460 V dc
• General purpose (gG) and dual motor rated (gM) types
• Low power dissipation
• ASTA 20 certified

As the fuse allows for the starting surge of a motor its full load current must not exceed the lesser of the dual current rating. e.g. 20 M25 must not have a continuous load of greater than 20A.

Eaton British Standard Fuse, A2, 32A TIA32M50

This high-performance fuse from the Eaton range is specifically designed for the protection of motor circuits. It's a slow-acting fuse that allows temporary inrush currents to pass without breaking the flow. It only breaks the flow when a surge or overload is sustained. This makes it useful for motors that need short bursts of current at startup.
The bolted tags are 8.7mm wide and attach easily to fuse holders for improved electrical safety. This component is commonly found in packaging and processing plants where motors are used in the various stages of production.

Features & Benefits

• Low power dissipation for improved energy efficiency
• Length of 85.5mm for standard installation
• High breaking capacity of 80kA to prevent fires from electrical arcing
• Low temperature rise for high-density mounting
• 32A current rating makes it suitable for heavy-duty applications

Can I use a fuse with an AC rating in a DC system?

A fuse with an AC (alternating current) rating should not be used in a DC (direct current) system. However, there are fuses that have both V AC and V DC ratings and can be used in both systems.
