Eaton Bussmann Series Red Spot™ Range, Type 'T' HBC Fuses

The Red Spot range of offset slotted fuses (or bolted tag fuses) from Eaton Bussmann is specifically designed for the protection of general industrial applications such as power distribution, cable protection and motor protection. Available in BS88 British Standard fuse sizes from A1 to A4, offset slotted and bolted fuses are suitable for general purpose rating (gG) and dual motor rating (gM) motor protection types.

Features and Benefits

• 2 to 200 A rated current
• Breaking capacity 80 kA up to 690 V ac
• Type A1 rated up to 550 V ac/ 250 V dc
• Type A2 rated up to 660 V ac / 460 V dc
• General purpose (gG) and dual motor rated (gM) types
• Low power dissipation
• ASTA 20 certified

As the fuse allows for the starting surge of a motor its full load current must not exceed the lesser of the dual current rating. e.g. 20 M25 must not have a continuous load of greater than 20A.

Eaton British Standard Fuse, A2, 25 A - Series - TIA25

This 25 A fuse from the Red Spot range in Eaton is ideal for protecting power distribution units, cables and motors. It's a bolted tag fuse (also known as an offset slotted fuse), meaning it's fitted with tags for screwing it into a fuse holder. It can also be bolted directly onto a busbar. This component features low power dissipation so it prevents the circuit from overheating. It's a gG-type fuse, meaning it's suitable for general-purpose use.

• High rupture capacity means it can withstand short-term surges of up to 80 kA at 690 V AC without blowing
• T fuse speed means it's slow-acting, to allow for the initial current inrush needed by motors to start
• A2 fuse size in accordance with British BS 88-2 and international IEC 269-2 standards, with dimensions of 56.4 (height) 22.2 (diameter) and 85.5 mm (length)
• Certified ASTA (Association of Short-circuit Testing Authorities) 20 as a safe and effective fuse

Where would I use a T-speed fuse?

T-speed fuses are sometimes referred to as anti-surge fuses. Because they can tolerate higher currents for a short period without blowing, you can use them to protect devices such as motors that rely on a short-term power surge to operate.
