These pressure-sensitive mats detect movement on their surface and trigger the connected machinery to stop. The external corners keep the mat securely fastened in place to prevent dead spots in the sensors. The surface must be even, with no sharp drops, to protect the internal sensors. The corner should have no gaps between it and the floor to prevent a tripping hazard. Ensure the centres of cables are used in the corner channel so no adaptors are put under stress by the sharp turn.
