The B&R Industrial Automation GmbH Bus Controller supports PROFINET diagnostics and module diagnostics during runtime directly from within the master environment. It also offers module and switch diagnostics via a website or SNMP. PROFINET is an Industrial Ethernet protocol that uses TCP/IP and supports real-time communication. X20 modules or other X2X Link-based modules can be connected to the bus controller, with PROFINET optimally supporting modular system configurations. Project configuration is simplified using the device description file (GSDML format) in the engineering tool of the master device manufacturer.
