B&K Precision Model 2831E, 4 ½ Digit True RMS Bench Multimeter
B&K Precision model 2831E is a versatile and dependable bench-top digital multimeter. It takes typical multimeter measurements such as volts, ohms and amps with great accuracy and stability. Readings can be taken at a maximum rate of 25 readings/sec with measurement rates selectable between slow, medium, and fast. This instrument is suitable for applications in education, service and repair and manufacturing requiring basic and reliable measurements. The 2831E has excellent quality, good resolution making it an essential part of the test bench.
This multimeter has built-in math functions not found in other bench meters in this price category. The 2831E is an attractive choice for cost-conscious users requiring a basic and dependable meter with a broad range of extra features offered at a value price. Another feature is the ability to perform two measurements at once, for example Volts AC and DC or Volts AC and frequency.
The LCD has a 20,000-count resolution, meaning it can display up to 19,999 units (4 1/2 digits) before the operating range needs to be changed. It meets International Electrotechnical Commission (IEC) safety standard 61010 and is certified for Category I installations up to 1,000V (which covers protected electrical equipment such as small household appliances). Also Category II installations up to 300V (which covers large household appliances and devices connected to a fixed power supply, such as refrigerators and air conditioners).
