Piano Hinges
A piano hinge, also known as a continuous hinge, is a long narrow hinge designed to run the entire length of a door or lid to create a continuous pivot point. A piano hinge consists of two metal plates joined together in the middle by a rod or pin which provides rotational movement. Piano hinges provide even weight distribution along the entire length making them ideal for use in, as the name suggests, musical instruments such as piano lids. Other applications for piano hinges include cabinet making and furniture making such as folding partitions where a reliable continuous hinge mechanism is required for a smooth operation
