Fluke Multifunction Tester, 500V Maximum Voltage Measurement, 1000V Insulation Test Voltage - FLK-1662 UK

This multifunction tester is a handheld installation instrument designed for electrical tradespeople and field engineers to perform routine safety and diagnostic tests on installations. It combines voltage and frequency checks, polarity verification, insulation resistance up to 1000 V, loop and line impedance measurements, and RCD timing and tripping evaluation in a single portable unit for site use.

Features & Benefits

• Measures insulation resistance up to 1000V for comprehensive fault finding
• Performs RCD ramp tests and tripping current measurement for compliance checks
• Continuity test at 1 mA to protect sensitive circuits and motor windings
• Calculates PEFC and PSC from measured voltage and loop resistance
• Wireless Interface with remote probe for safer, more efficient testing
• Z-max memory stores highest loop values for Rapid evaluation

**Applications**

• Suitable for inspection of fixed wiring and consumer units on construction sites
• Ideal for verifying RCD performance and installation commissioning
• Used for motor winding continuity checks in maintenance routines
• Can be used to determine prospective short-circuit current for system studies
• Used with site instrumentation where portable battery-powered testing is required

What batteries does it use and how long do they typically last?

It runs on six AA cells and provides approximately 200 h of operation under normal test cycles.

Which RCD types and modes can it test automatically?

It supports A, AC, G and S RCD types, including variable-current ramp testing and automatic test sequences.

What safety and overvoltage categories apply to this instrument?

It meets CAT IV 300V and CAT III 500V overvoltage classifications for connection to distribution-level circuits.

How does it handle loop impedance measurements and reporting?

It measures phase-to-neutral and phase-to-earth impedance, offers a high-current mΩ mode, and logs Z-max values for later review.

Is the unit suitable for outdoor use in adverse conditions?

The enclosure has IP40 protection and is specified for operation between -10 °C and 40 °C.
