Honeywell 14CE Series Limit Switch, Roller Plunger Actuator Type, IP66, IP65, IP68, IP67 - 14CE2-1

This limit switch is a Compact industrial device designed to detect mechanical movement and provide electrical switching in control systems. Housed in a robust die‑cast zinc enclosure, it is intended for panel installation where a roller plunger actuator converts physical motion into an SPDT slow‑action contact change suitable for automation and electrical control tasks.

Features and Benefits:

• SPDT slow‑action contact offers reliable state change under load
• 250V AC switching capability supports mains control circuits
• 5 A switching current accommodates moderate power loads
• 11.8 N operating force ensures predictable actuation feel
• Mechanical life rated for 10,000,000 cycles reduces replacement frequency
• IP66, IP67, IP68 protection withstands washdown and immersion conditions

Applications

• Suitable for conveyor position detection in manufacturing lines
• Ideal for limit sensing on automated packaging machines
• Used with motor control panels for end‑of‑travel detection
• Can be used for safety interlocks in industrial enclosures
• Suitable for outdoor equipment requiring waterproof switching

What Terminal arrangement does it provide for wiring?

It uses cable‑type terminals for direct lead connections to control circuits.

What temperature range can it reliably operate within?

It functions between 0 °C and a maximum of 70 °C for typical industrial environments.

How is the unit mounted in control equipment?

The design is intended for panel mounting to integrate with switchgear and enclosures.

Which standards does it conform to for international use?

It meets CE, EN and IEC standards relevant to electrical switching devices.

What physical materials contribute to its durability?

The enclosure is constructed from die‑cast zinc to provide mechanical protection.

Approvals

UL, CSA.

Warning

14CE limit switches are not emergency stop devices or safety devices. They must not be used in devices, applications and environments where injury can incur as a result of product failure.

Standards

IP Rating:
All models within the 14CE series meet IP65, IP66, IP67, IP68. This ensures that they are completely dust tight, offer protection against jets of water and can be immersed in water up to 3 m.

NEMA Rating:
Every 14CE limit switch also meets NEMA, 2, 3, 3R, 4, 6, 6P and 13 requirements.

Type 2: Allows for indoor use and provides a degree of protection against access to hazardous parts. The enclosures provide a degree of protection against foreign objects (such as falling dirt) and the ingress of water (light dripping or splashing).
Type 3: Allows for indoor or outdoor use and provides a degree of protection against access to hazardous parts. The enclosures provide some protection from foreign objects (such as windblown dust) and the ingress of water (such as rain or snow). Enclosures that meet NEMA 3 offer protection against ice forming externally.
Type 3R: Allows for indoor or outdoor use and provides a degree of protection against access to hazardous parts. The enclosures primarily provide ingress protection against water (such as rain, snow or sleet). Enclosures that meet NEMA 3 offer protection against ice forming externally.
Type 4: Allows for indoor or outdoor use and provides a degree of protection against access to hazardous parts. The enclosures provide some protection from foreign objects (such as falling dirt and windblown dust) and the ingress of water (such as rain, snow or sleet alongside splashing water and hose directed water). Enclosures that meet NEMA 3 offer protection against ice forming externally.
Type 6: Allows for indoor or outdoor use and provides a degree of protection against access to hazardous parts. The enclosures provide some protection from foreign objects (such as falling dirt and windblown dust) and the ingress of water (such as rain, snow or sleet alongside splashing water and hose directed water). Enclosures that meet NEMA 4 offer protection against ice forming externally.
Type 6P: Allows for indoor or outdoor use and provides a degree of protection against access to hazardous parts. The enclosures provide some protection from solid objects (such as falling dirt and windblown dust) and the ingress of water (such as hose directed water). Enclosures that meet the NEMA 6P requirement also offer protection against water when being submerged at a limited depth.
Type 13: Enclosures that meet Type 13 are suited to harsh environments. Enclosures can be used indoors and provide protection against access to hazardous parts. They offer protection against solid objects such as falling dirt, windblown dirt, fibres and lint. They provide a level of protection from dripping and splashing water and other liquids such as the splashing, seepage and spraying of oil and non-corrosive coolants.
