Work Lights

Work lights, work floodlights, LED Work lights or site lights, are used to illuminate work site and construction sites. Work lights are used when carrying out maintenance at home handy when decorating. A well-lit environment is fundamental to promoting good health and safety practices, allowing you to work at any time of the day or night.

Work lights, normally portable, operate from mains power and or re-chargeable batteries. Many have handles, easy to carry and hooks for hands-free working. We offer a wide range of brands, including Nightsearcher powerful LED 6 to 10,000 lumen.

Why choose a rechargeable work light?

Rechargeable work lights offer some benefits over wired lighting. If you use a light on busy construction sites, a rechargeable light doesn't need to be plugged in. This means no trailing cable, and this can help to prevent accidents. It varies by model, some rechargeable floodlights can offer 6 or more hours of uninterrupted light from one charge.

Common types of work light

Tripod mounted site lights are a versatile way of lighting an area. You can adjust the height and angle of the light. A tripod takes up little floor space. Lighting Tripods are easy to move, fold and dismantle. Other stands are available that enable you to mount more than one light. Floodlights are normally mounted on stands and can light large areas having a higher lumen (brightness). Elevating a floodlight increases the area that can be illuminated.

Fixed ceiling or wall mounted lights are ideal for situations that require a temporary lighting system. Mounting lights on a ceiling or wall keeps a floor and walkway clear. Festoon lights can be fixed in place to provide lighting. They are a chain of lights or bulbs and are typical to light up walkways or paths.

Environment

Consider the environment a work light will be used in. Some site lights are only for use indoors, others are waterproof and for use outside and in hazardous work areas. Many work lights will have an Ingress Protection (IP) rating offering protection from dust, liquids with impact-resistant glass.

What bulb should I use?

Most work lights use LED or Fluorescent bulbs/tube lights (some use halogen). LED and Fluorescent (bright light) bulbs are energy-efficient solutions and both diffuse light evenly. LED work lights to have a long life span than fluorescent work lights.
