Pozidriv screwdrivers also known as a Pozi Screwdrivers, Pozidriv Phillips screwdrivers, or PZ screwdrivers were developed by the Phillips Screw Company as an improvement over the Phillips type drive. Pozidriv screwdrivers have a similar tip shape to the Phillips screwdrivers but also have two extra cross shaped recesses at a 45-degree angle to the main arms which correspond to the recesses in Pozidriv screws. This improved design offers an improved grip and prevents ˈcam-outˈ or slipping and increases torque transmission making screwdriving easier and more efficient.
