Junction boxes are used for protecting, securing, and organising electrical connections in domestic and commercial environments. Also known as terminal boxes, or electrical outlet boxes, these enclosures are available in a range of materials, sizes, and IP ratings to suit any application.

Junction Box Types & Features

Junction boxes are typically adaptable boxes, which means some are cross-functional. One thing to note is that you should never use a standard box for a specialty job. For example, a round box is typically used for lightweight fixtures only, whilst if you wanted to mount a ceiling fan you would need to get a fan-rated junction box. Selecting the correct material is also important, both metal and plastic boxes are suitable for most household projects, but metal boxes require grounding and must be connected to the ground system of the circuit.

It is important to check the junction box IP Rating to get the right box for the job. Our range includes IP55 and IP65 boxes for outdoor use, IP66 boxes for heavy industrial & outdoor use, and IP67 and IP68 junction boxes for marine and in-ground applications.
