Megger DCM305E Earth Leakage Clamp Meter

The Megger DCM305E is an earth leakage clamp meter designed to measure the leakage current in a circuit, particularly when an RCD (Residual Current Device) keeps tripping unexpectedly. It can help you quickly identify whether the excessive leakage current is causing the RCD to trip or if the RCD itself is faulty.

The DCM305E ienables TRMS AC current measurements of up to 100 A. TRMS meters can measure both pure, undistorted, sinusoidal AC waveforms and non-sinusoidal AC waveforms which can contain pulse trains, triangles, spikes and other ragged waves. The instrument has six ranges: 6 mA, 60 mA, 600 mA, 6 A, 60 A100 A with a minimum resolution of 0.001 mA on the 6 mA range. Either auto or manual ranging can be selected. Harmonics / electrical noise on the cables / circuit under test can give rise to incorrect readings so the DCM305E features a low pass filter (50/60 Hz) which vastly improves measurements on these particular circuits.

Features and Benefits:

0.001 mA resolution
Up to 100 A for AC current measurements
40 mm jaw size
Six ranges - this allows you to measure a wide range of leakage currents with high accuracy.
True RMS measurement - This ensures accurate readings even for non-sinusoidal waveforms, which are common in modern electrical systems.
Low pass filter - this helps to maintain stable readings in noisy environments.
Auto range - will automatically select the correct range for the measurement, making it easy to use.
Data hold and peak hold - these features allow you to freeze the display at the current or peak reading.
Analogue bar graph - provides a real-time indication of the leakage current.
Cat III 300V safety rating - suitable for use in most electrical installations.
60-hour battery life
