SMC VG Series Safety Pressure Release Valves

VG series valves allow safe venting of compressed air to atmosphere and can be used in category 3 and 4 safety systems conforming to ISO standard ISO13849-1. The valve is equipped with two stations allowing pressure to be safely vented if failure occurs. The residual pressure release valve is fitted with a limit switch enabling the valves state (energised or de-energised) to be constantly monitored. If the valve fails, the limit switch can be used to prevent operation until repairs can be carried out.

Features and Benefits

• ISO13849-1 category 3 and 4 level e compliant
• Fitted with limit switch for position monitoring
• Easy to use and maintain
• Modular fit with SMC FRL systems
• Internal pilot operation
• 2.2W power consumption
• Fitted with light/surge voltage suppressor
• 30 times/min max operating frequency
• 1 time/week minimum operating frequency

Applications

The VG series valves are designed to be used as part of safety control systems where compressed air systems are being used. They are suitable for use in various industries and applications as part of a ISO13849-1 compliant safety system. Some example s of use are,

Any of these products are component function parts to ensure safety in the control system of the machine, but are not certified to safety standard ISO13849-1
It is recommended that confirmation is sought from a third party certification organisation about the safety of the control system as a whole.
