Festo Pneumatic Piston Rod Cylinder, Air Cushioning Type, G1/4 Ports - DSBC-40-80-PPVA-N3

Looking for an adaptable actuator? Turn to this pneumatic piston rod cylinder from Festo. A double-acting arm gives you controlled linear movement in two directions. The rod's end is threaded, making it a cinch to add eye, coupler and clevis attachments. It has adjustable air cushioning at both ends to give you seamless, vibration-free motion. Thanks to a coated die-cast aluminium body, high-alloy steel rod and TPE-U seals, this is a tough cookie. A wide operating temperature range between -20°C and +80°C means it can handle harsh industrial environments.

• Broad operating pressure range between 0.6 and 12 bar for system flexibility
• Mounts in any position and works with lubricated and unlubricated systems, so it's versatile

Applications

• Machine tool heads
• Conveyors and rollers
• Robotic arms
• Material handling equipment

Is it possible to automatically sense the rod's position in this pneumatic piston rod cylinder?

As the unit's internal rod is magnetic, proximity sensors (such as 253-9247) have no trouble detecting its position. Handy slots on the outside of the cylinder body mean mounting a sensor is a cinch.
