RS Pro Mini Pocket Light Meter IM-720
RS PRO mini pocket light meter IM-720 is a great value lux/foot-candle light meter. It measures light from visible sources (sun, moon or any light-emitting body) and from equipped fluorescent, metal halide, high-pressure sodium and incandescent sources.
Lightweight and pocket-sized, this mini handheld light meter is ideal for light measuring applications in almost any environment. The sensor is attached directly to the reader for compact convenience, and has a lens cap to ensure the sensor remains protected when not in use.
Features and Benefits
To JISC1609 : 1993 and CNS 5119 general A class specifications
Spectral response close to CIE luminous spectral efficiency
Measures intensities of illumination displays in lux or foot-candles
Silicon photo diode and filter
Light sources measured include all visible light sources
Cosine angular corrected
Auto power off and disable function
Data hold, Max/Min/AVG hold
Real Zero function
Auto-ranging
Light source selecting Tungsten/Daylight, Fluorescent, 0 ∼ 9 select rating
Measuring range 400,4000,40 000,400 000 lux, 40,400,4000,40 000 foot-candles
Accuracy ±3% ±3 lux, 0 ∼ 500 lux, ±3% up 501 lux (calibrated to standard incandescent lamp 2856°K), ±8% other visible light source
Powered by 1.5 V AAA batteries (x2)
Dimensions 133 x 48 x23 mm
Weight (including battery) 80 g
Applications
Light meters measure light levels or light pollution within the environment. Its a key piece of equipment to ensure that there is the right amount of ambient light within the workplace, at school or even at home, and are often used by photographers in studios and natural environments to calibrate film equipment. They most often measure light sources like white LED light, fluorescent lighting, metal halide, high-pressure sodium and incandescent lighting. The most common types of environments where light meters are used are:
Warehouses and factories
Commercial office buildings
Hotels and restaurants
Public buildings
Schools and other educational buildings
Libraries
Museums and art galleries
Hospitals and other healthcare buildings
Garages and car parks
Stadiums and sports & leisure buildings
Building commissioning, operation and maintenance
Building security
Photography and video
How is light measured?
When using this light meter, light levels are measured using the lux scale.
