Cynergy3 RSF50 Series Float Switches

Cynergy3 RSF50 float switches are compact devices suitable for vending machines printing system and chemical dosing equipment, for example. RSF50 float switches are vertically mounted and feature a single switch.
There is a range of different material options available within the RSF50 series so you will be sure to find a suitable float switch for more commonly used liquids.
The direction of the switch can be reversed by firstly removing the float, inverting the switch and re-fitting it to the stem.

Within the series there are 5 ranges:
RSF53 (black) - Nylon
RSF54 (opaque) - Polypropylene (WRAS approved)
RSF56 (grey) - Polyphenylene Sulphide (PPS)
RSF57 (green) - Polyvinylidene Fluoride (PVDF)
RSF58 (white) - Polypropylene (UL approved)
Note - the different ranges feature other differences. Please refer to the Datasheet for more information on technical specifications.

What contact types are there?
The RSF50 float switches can be configured for N/O (Normally Open) or N/C (Normally Closed) operation.

What mounting thread does it have?
RSF50 float switches have either M12 or 1/8” NPT mounting thread. This is depicted by the last part of the part number. If it ends in “B” or “C”, it is an M12. If it ends in “1/8” it is 1/8” NPT.

Note

Part numbers ending in '1/8' have a 1/8"NPT mounting thread
Part numbers ending in 'C' have an M12 mounting thread

Warning

The cable entry point must NOT under any circumstances be submerged.
On the Horizontal switches they must be fitted through the wall of a tank so that the cable is on the outside.
On the Vertical type the mounting thread and cable entry must be above the highest level of the liquid.

Sensata Cynergy3 Vertical Float Switch, NO/NC, 600mA - RSF50 Series - RSF56Y100RB

The vertical float switch from Sensata Cynergy3's RSF50 series is a compact, durable choice for detecting liquids in tanks. Its robust body is manufactured from high-performance polyphenylene sulfide (PPS) that delivers a reliably long service life. The switch's normally open/normally closed (NO/NC) output means you can use it to switch a circuit on or off when the liquid reaches a certain level. The direction of the switch can be reversed by removing the float, inverting the switch and refitting it to the stem. A float length of just 44mm makes this a space-efficient option that's ideal for use in small tanks.

Features and Benefits

• Operating temperature range of -10°C to +100°C makes it suitable for a range of environments
• 1m epoxy sealed flying lead allows flexible connection
• Silicone and Viton gaskets provide a secure, chemical-resistant seal

Where would I use a compact vertical float switch?

Switches of this type are commonly found in vending machines, printing systems and chemical-dosing equipment.

What mounting thread does this float switch have?

This switch is fitted with an M12 size mounting thread for fitting to standardised systems.
