Fluke Current Clamp, 400A Maximum AC Current, 32mm Maximum Conductor Size - 1640967

This current clamp is a battery-powered Hall-effect probe designed to extend multimeter capabilities for measuring AC and DC currents up to 400A. It provides a voltage-type output for use with standard meters and opens access to confined conductors with a large clamp jaw while meeting CAT III 600V safety requirements.

Features & Benefits

• 1 mV/A output enables straightforward meter readings
• ±3.5% current clamp accuracy ensures measurement consistency
• 1A to 400 A continuous range covers common industrial loads
• DC–3kHz frequency response supports varied signal types
• 60 h battery life for extended field use
• 1.6m cable with 4mm plug for flexible connections

Applications

• Suitable for in-situ HVAC current measurements on compressors and fans
• Ideal for electrical maintenance troubleshooting on distribution panels
• Used with multimeters for control-panel commissioning and servicing
• Can be used for fault-finding in automation and motor-drive installations

What conductor sizes can be accommodated by the clamp?

The jaw accepts conductors up to 32mm diameter so single insulated cables and small multi-core runs can be measured without disconnection.

How does the device Interface with a multimeter?

It delivers a voltage output proportional to current (1 mV per amp) via a 1.6m lead terminated with shrouded 4 mm plugs for direct plugging into most meters.

What environmental temperatures can it operate in?

It functions across an ambient range from -10°C to 50°C, suitable for most workshop and site conditions.
