Rayrim™ Adhesive Edging Strip

Rayrim edging or door seals also known as grommet strips, are extruded strips or seals made from black flame retardant radiation cross-linked polyolefin. Inside these sealing strips is an adhesive coating which is heat activated. When you heat the edging its profile changes from a “V” shape to a “U” shape while bonding to the chosen surface. The heat shrinking temperature range is 120 to 150 °C.

These heat shrink edging strips are flexible and therefore perfect for protecting both curved and straight edges. With a continuous operating temperature of -55 to 80°C these seals can provide protection under extreme circumstances

Features and Benefits

• Quick to apply
• Heat-activated adhesive
• Flexible design suitable for curved edges
• Operating Temperature: -55 to 80°C

Applications for Edging Strips

This door seal or edging strip can be used to provide all round protection on metal, wood or glass on doors, panels, windows and enclosures

The TE Connectivity Rayrim-NR8-0-SP is a 7.5m black grommet strip with a heat-activated adhesive. It has an opening width of 2.5mm which, after the heat is applied, shrinks to 2mm (therefore your panel edge should be 2mm thick). The strip is 6.6mm deep.
