Angle Grinders
An angle grinder, also known as a side grinder or disc grinder is a handheld power tool used for cutting, grinding, and polishing a wide range of materials, including metal, concrete, stone, and wood. The term ˈAngleˈ in the word ˈAngle Grinderˈ refers to the fact that the grinding wheel is mounted at a right angle to the tool's body which allows it to be held in various orientations. Angle grinders have a motor, which when powered on, rotates a disc or wheel at a high speed. The disc or wheel has grit or abrasive particles on it so when it is applied to a workpiece it can cut, grind or polish allowing the material to be shaped and finished. Angle grinders can be cordless and run off a battery, corded with a power cord that plugs into a mains socket or pneumatic and operated by compressed air. Angle grinders are used in a wide range of industries including metalworking, construction and fabrication and are available with a range of different disc sizes and power ratings to accommodate different applications.
