A crimp tool is hand tool which can be set to different levels of pressure to meet what level is required. The tool connects two different pieces of material together by compressing them to create a bond. When the material joins it secures a seal that causes a connection to be made.

There are many different types of crimp tools and the use for a crimp tool depends on the sort of tool that you have. Manually operated Crimp tools are commonly used to fuse smaller items together whereas Electric Crimp tools work very similar to this but they are battery powered.

Hydraulic crimp tools are also hand held, Hydraulic fluid is pumped through the tool to cause pressure causing the materials to compress.

Pneumatic tools also work by hydraulic liquid causing a pressure, but these can be hand held or mounted onto a work bench. This type of tool is used mainly to crimp material that would be difficult if using a manual tool.

The kind of tool you need would depend on the task required. Crimp tools are usually used for adding electrical connections onto wiring and cables but some crimp tools can be multi purpose and include wire strippers and have cutters.
