What is static electricity?

This is an electric charge which stays in one place hence the name 'static'. It is the opposite of current electricity which usually moves around from one place to another through a circuit. Bringing different materials in to contact regularly can allow static to build-up. Some users may experience a small shock from static build up but it takes around 3000 volts to cause a 1mm long spark, which in flammable environments can be dangerous and cause problems.

What are Anti-Static wipes?

Usually low lint or lint free and disposable, anti-static wipes are cloths which leave no residue, have various uses and reduce static discharge. They not only allow you to clean a surface but they also reduce the build-up of static electricity. Their ideal use is for electrostatic discharge environments, laptops, computers, plasma TV screens, E-readers, monitors, TFT and LCD screens and other surfaces where static electricity may build up.
