RS PRO Reduced Head Round Knurled Body Open End Blind Rivet Nut
RS PRO introduces a fantastic range of reduced head open end blind rivet nuts. Designed to be easily installed and able to secure joints with short clamp lengths, these rivet nuts are engineered to create a mechanical fastening. They are internally threaded and counterbored tubular rivets used to create highly durable threads especially in thin materials. The blind rivet nut can be installed entirely from one side of the material when access is limited to the fixing, unlike machine screws. The reduced head is a specialised version of the countersunk head it is also referred to as thin sheet or small countersunk head. Designed to provide a near flush finish with no need to countersink prepare the hole.
Made from steel with a zinc plating to ensure weather proofing and high corrosion resistance to elongate the life of your rivet nuts whilst keeping it lightweight and strong. These steel rivet nuts have a wide grip range with strong durability.
Used predominantly in modular buildings, portable wash facilities and plastic pallet and storage solutions.

Features and Benefits
- Made from steel with zinc plating for solid rivets, strong corrosion resistance and structural strength
- Easy and clean installation
- Can be used where only one side of the application is accessible
- Increased grip range 0.5 mm – 1.5 mm
- Creates a permanent and high tensile structural rivet joint with little effort
- Body diameter 4.7 mm
Applications
Rivet nuts are installed in a similar fashion to blind rivets, driven through pre-drilled holes from one side of a material. The advantage of using rivet nuts is that they do not require hot welding, so they can be installed in metal, plastic, fiberglass, and other materials without a problem. They are used to permanently join two steel, aluminium or copper plates usually in mechanical applications where it is imperative that joints do not become loose and cause failure. They are especially suited for environments where a flush finish is required but non-interference is not necessary creating a near flush finish with not countersinking preparation needed. Most common, everyday rivet nut applications include:
Building and construction
White goods
Transportation and infrastructure
Woodworking and decorative finishing
Fine metalwork
Aviation, aerospace, and automotive
