Eaton Tag Fuse, 350A Current, 1000V Voltage - PV-315A-2XL-3B

This tag fuse is a photovoltaic protective device designed to isolate and interrupt fault currents within solar arrays and PV combiner assemblies. It is intended for use in high-voltage solar systems and provides overcurrent protection for multi-string and reverse-current fault scenarios while integrating with compatible fuse bases and extraction tools.

Features & Benefits

• Rated for 1000V DC operation for high-voltage PV strings
• 350A continuous current rating for high-current installations
• High rupture capacity to interrupt large fault currents
• Compatible with 2XL fuse bases for straightforward installation
• Revised bolting pattern allows interchange with 3L mounting
• Low thermal loss under rated load to reduce heating effects

Applications

• Suitable for protecting solar combiner box circuits in commercial arrays
• Ideal for isolation within inverter DC input assemblies
• Used with Eaton XL PV fuse bases in rooftop and ground-mounted systems
• Can be used for protection of multi-array PV fault conditions

What interrupting behaviour can be expected during low overcurrent faults?

The fuse is capable of clearing low overcurrent conditions typical of reverse-current and multi-array faults, with specified I²t performance for energy let-through and pre-arcing characteristics.

Which accessory is required for removal and handling?

A compatible extraction handle is specified for the fuse body sizes indicated and must be used with the matching XL fuse base.

Are there options for different mounting interfaces?

Bolted and bladed variants exist

the bolted 2XL option features a revised bolting pattern matching size 3L to ease dimensional compatibility.

How does the device integrate with detection or signalling?

Compatible microswitch modules are available for use with the XL bases to provide auxiliary status signalling when fitted.
