Omron Limit Switch, Limit Switch - D4N-1A32

This limit switch is a Compact safety device designed to detect mechanical position changes and provide dependable switching for industrial automation and machinery. It is a miniature safety limit switch suited to a range of actuator options and conduit/connector styles, enabling straightforward integration into control systems where direct‑opening contact behaviour and defined operating characteristics are required.

Features & Benefits

• IP67 protection and high durability for harsh environments
• Direct‑opening contacts to separate NC under metal deposition
• Electrical endurance up to 500,000 operations at 3A, 250VAC
• Mechanical life of 15,000,000 operations for long service
• Minimum applicable load 1mA at 5VDC to detect microloads
• Connector options including M12 for Faster maintenance

Applications

• Suitable for interlock detection on passenger lift doors
• Ideal for machine safety position sensing in factories
• Used with control panels requiring microload detection
• Can be used for conveyor end‑of‑travel sensing
• Suitable for retrofitting older limit switch installations

What wiring information is available to aid installation?

A connector and Terminal arrangement is provided with screw Terminal and M12 connector variants

wiring should follow the terminal‑numbering standard and use crimp terminals AWG20 to AWG18 (0.5 to 0.75 mm2).

How does the device cope with short‑circuit protection?

It is specified that a 10A gI or gG fuse compliant with IEC 269 should be used in series as short‑circuit protection

this fuse is not built into the unit.

What insulation and impulse withstand capabilities exist?

Rated insulation voltage is 300V and impulse withstand voltages range from 2.5 kV to 6 kV between specified terminals and uncharged metallic parts.

Are there mechanical installation requirements to maintain performance?

Mounting requires M4 screws with specified torques and correct dog alignment at right angles to the actuator

improper leverage or slanted loading may damage the actuator.

How are direct‑opening safety contacts implemented for reliability?

A direct‑opening mechanism physically forces separation of NC contacts, ensuring positive opening even when contact deposits occur.
