As no physical contact is needed, there's little risk of damage to sensitive components. This also gives the device an extended lifespan with a mean time to failure of 874 years, as there's minimal wear and tear. A handy yellow LED conveniently lets you know the module's switching state. You can put it to the test in harsh environments as it withstands vibration and shock.
