This heavy-duty power connector insert is a panel-mount, straight-orientation male insert designed for robust industrial power connections. It delivers multi-pole power distribution within control cabinets and machinery, accommodating flexible and stranded conductors for medium-current circuits while fitting into standard heavy-duty connector housings.

Features & Benefits

• Ten contacts Plus earth provide Compact multi-pole distribution
• Rated for 16 A continuous operation at industry voltages
• Accepts conductors from 0.75 mm² to 2.5 mm² for wiring flexibility
• Silver-plated copper-alloy contacts for low contact resistance
• Screw termination with defined torque for secure connections
• Withstands repeated mating cycles of 500 or more

Applications

• Suitable for power distribution in automation cabinets
• Ideal for machine-tool supply connections on panels
• Used for factory-floor mobile equipment power interfaces
• Can be used for electrical modules in test benches
• Used with heavy-duty connector housings for modular assemblies

What is the insulation performance under transient stress?

The insert is specified with a rated impulse withstand voltage of 4 kV to manage transient events.

How should the contact screws be tightened for reliable termination?

Contact screws require 0.5 Nm tightening and the protective-earth screw 0.8 Nm to ensure correct clamping.

What temperature range can the insert operate within?

It is suitable for temperatures from −40°C up to +125°C for a wide range of industrial environments.

What materials affect electrical continuity and durability?

Contacts employ a copper alloy with silver plating, while the insert body is a V-0 rated polycarbonate to balance insulation and mechanical resilience.

Note

Two 16P + E inserts may be accommodated within a ’Size’ 32A housing (typical stock no 363-7964)

Approvals
