Festo Electrically Actuated Closed Solenoid Valve, 3 to 8 Bar, G1/8 Port Connection - VUVG-L14-P53C-T-G18-1R8L

Until it's electrically actuated, this normally closed solenoid valve from Festo prevents the flow of compressed air. It can handle high flow rates of up to 650 litres per minute and its fast response times improve efficiency in pneumatic circuits. The robust component is resistant to vibration and shock so it's a reliable choice for long-term use in industrial settings. At just 89g, it's also lightweight and easy to handle.

• Wide operating temperature range of -5°C to +60°C for use with both hot and cold compressed air
• Handles mild voltage fluctuations without any negative effect on its performance
• Wrought-iron aluminium housing that's resistant to corrosion and wear-and-tear

Applications

• Pumps and engines
• Construction industry
• Agricultural industry
• Dentistry and medical equipment

What's the difference between a normally closed and normally open solenoid valve?

A normally closed solenoid valve prevents the flow of media until it's energised by an electrical current. This forces its plunger upwards and opens its seal, allowing air to flow through the valve. A normally open solenoid valve remains open when de-energised and only stops the flow of compressed air when current is sent to its coil.
