IMI Norgren Double-Acting Cylinder, Anodised Aluminium Bore Material, 12 Bar Maximum Pressure - PRA Series - PRA/802040/M/25

Need to get objects moving in your industrial machinery? Make an impact with this double-acting cylinder from IMI Norgren. It uses compressed air to create powerful forward and backward linear motion. Thanks to the compact 25mm stroke and narrow 40mm bore, it's a space-saving choice. But as it delivers a hefty 754N thrust on the outstroke though, it still packs a punch. To soften the blow, an adaptive cushioning system provides a damping function that prevents damage to delicate items as they move through the system.

Features & Benefits

• Standard G1/4 fitting for easy integration into your existing setup
• Wide operating temperature range between -20°C and +80°C means it can cope with harsh conditions
• Works with pressures between 1 and 12 bar, so it's at home in demanding environments

Applications

• Factory automation
• Packaging machines
• Mining industry

What's the difference between double-acting and single-acting cylinders?

Single-acting cylinders only have one air supply port and rely on a spring to return to their normal-state position. This makes them more compact than double-acting alternatives, but also more limited in what they can do. Because a double-acting cylinder like this one has two air supply ports, it can apply force in both directions.
