This PLC (programmable logic controller) I/O (input/output) module from Rockwell Automation's Allen Bradley range acts as an intermediary component. It allows a CPU (central processing unit) and process control device to communicate. The unit decodes and directs the control commands sent from a processor, runs system reports and manages data flow to ensure the PLC continues to run smoothly. For versatility, the module has 16 input points that can be used to make connections to the PLC, a control device or power supply.
