Fluke Multimeter Kit, Current Clamp Fc Kit Type, Electrical Application - Fluke 1587/I400 FC

This multimeter kit combines a true-RMS digital meter with an insulation tester and a detachable current clamp to support electrical troubleshooting and preventive maintenance in industrial environments. It is designed for use on live and de-energised plant, providing insulation resistance measurement across wide ranges, multi-function electrical readings and app-enabled data handling for engineers working on motors, drives and general electrical systems.

Features & Benefits

• Insulation range to 2GΩ for wide-resistance diagnostics
• Multiple test voltages including 50V and 1000V for versatile testing
• Live-circuit inhibit protects users when greater than 30V is present
• Low-pass filter for accurate motor drive measurements
• True-RMS AC measurement for non‑sinusoidal waveforms
• Fluke Connect compatibility for wireless data capture

Applications

• Suitable for motor and VFD insulation health checks using low-pass filter
• Ideal for preventative maintenance with timed PI/DAR trend tests
• Used for on-site voltage and current verification with current clamp
• Suitable for fault finding on industrial control panels and switchgear
• Can be used for thermocouple temperature checks and capacitance measurements

What communication method allows remote data storage and trending?

Measurements are transmitted via 2.4GHz radio to a mobile app that stores readings and plots timed PI/DAR graphs for trend analysis.

Which accessory enables current measurement without breaking conductors?

The supplied clamp accessory and optional i400 clamp adaptors allow AC current assessment while connected around conductors.

How does the instrument behave when testing capacitive circuits?

The instrument auto-discharges capacitive voltage and operates with capacitive loads up to 1μF with discharge time less than 0.5s for 1μF or less.

What environmental conditions can the tool handle during use and storage?

It operates between -20°C and 55°C and stores between -40°C and 60°C with defined humidity tolerances up to 95% at lower temperatures.

What safety and approvals are relevant for site use?

The kit meets CAT IV 600V/CAT III 1000V safety category requirements and holds CSA and CE approvals.
