Siemens Soft Starter, 7.5kW, 400V AC, 3 Phase - 3RW Series - 3RW3018-1BB04

Need a soft starter to protect 3-phase motors from damage caused by large inrush currents? This option from Siemens' SIRIUS range can be easily integrated into a motor control system that uses other SIRIUS parts. It's designed for DIN rail mounting has compact dimensions to save space in your cabinet and features status indication, to alert you to device failure or bypass. Start-up voltage can be set at anywhere between 40% and 100% of working voltage, offering flexibility of use. This device makes an ideal replacement for DOL and Star-Delta starters.

• Control voltage of 24V DC offers a combination of safe operation, efficiency and resistance to control-circuit drop

• IP20 ingress protection rating means it's touch-safe and resistant to dust

• Integrated 'self-hold' and 'end of start-up' auxiliary contacts allow you to control interlocking circuits and other pieces of plant such as pumps

What's a soft starter used for?

A soft starter is typically used to control AC electric motors. It uses solid-state switches to control the voltage and starting current supplied to the motor, helping to reduce the torque and load during the start-up phase.
