Kemet C1206 Open Mode Series

Kemet C1206F series ceramic open mode capacitors in X7R dielectric are designed to significantly minimize the probability of a low IR or short circuit condition when forced to failure in a board stress flex situation, thus reducing the potential for catastrophic failure. The open mode series of capacitor was designed for critical applications where higher operating temperatures and mechanical stress are a concern. These capacitors are widely used in automotive circuits as well as power supplies (input and output filters) and general electronic applications.

Open mode/fail open design
Mid to high capacitance flex mitigation
Lead-Free, RoHS and REACH compliant
Non-polar
Matte tin-plated terminations

1206 Range

C0G (NP0) is the most popular formulation of the "temperature-compensating", EIA Class I ceramic materials
X7R formulations are called "temperature stable" ceramics and fall into EIA Class II materials
Y5V formulations are for general-purpose use in a limited temperature range. These characteristics make Y5V ideal for decoupling applications
