914CE31-3 Limit Switch

914CE31-3 is a single pole double throw (SPDT) snap action limit switch. It has one nomally closed (NC) and one normally open (NO) contact. It features silver contacts as standard.

This limit switch has a Parallel boot seal top roller plunger acutator and is fitted with a 3 feet long UL cable.

914CE31-3 has a maximum operating force of 22.2 N or 5 in-lb. It has pretravel of 1.8 mm and an overtravel range of 3 mm.

Honeywell 914CE Miniature Limit Switches

The 914CE series of limit switches from Honeywell make up part of their miniature limit switches range. 914CE limit switches meet North America cURus and European CE standards, allowing them to be used in a vast array of environments. A choice of actuator ensures that you will be able to find a miniature limit switch that meets your applicatoin nees.

Features:

• 914CE limit switches feature gang mounting capability.

• A range of different cable lengths are available.

• These limit switches are able to function over a wide operating temperature range of -40 °C to +75 °C.

• 914CE limit switches are long lasting and have a mechanical life span up to 10 million operations for standard actuators and plungers. Wobble stick or cat whisker actuators have a life span of 5 million operations.

• An integrated quick blow fuse acts as a short circuit protection device (SCPD).

Benefits:

• 914CE limit switches are particularly suited to applications with limited space. They have a compact design and feature a 25 mm hole-hole mounting footprint. The mounting holes for screwing the limit switch into place are counter-bored. This means that the screw heads fit within the housing of the unit, and no additional real estate is required when mounting the switch.

• Installation of 914CE limit switches is quick and easy. Each unit only requires two M5 (or #10) screws for mounting. Pre-leaded cables and M12 micro-change connectors minimise installation time.

• This series offers a great deal of design flexibility. You can choose the most appropriate cable length and whether the cable or connector exits the unit at the side or bottom. These switches are supplied with either an M12 micro-change four-pin connector or are pre-leaded with UL cable.

• Utilising the gang mounting capability, you can build your own multiple plunger switch using models with a pin plunger or roller plunger. When using this functionality, there is a 16mm distance between the plungers. You also have the ability to incoroporate a limit switch with a lever actuator or with lever functionality at the end of the row.

• 914CE limit switches are constructed with diecast zinc housing. Each unit within the 914CE series incorporates a fluorocarbon sealing diaphragm that offers protection and enhances reliability. An epoxy sealant has also been used to encapsulate the cable, connector and switch terminals. The factory sealing and sealant protects the integrity of the limit switch and you can trust this limit switch to perform consistently and accurately within the most rugged environments. 914CE limit switches function as expected in environments where petrol, water based or synthetic fluids are present.

914CE limit switches are incredibly versatile and can be used in extreme temperature and harsh environments. Example product applications include:

Machine tools: These limit swtiches can be used to detect tools, or the location of pieces or parts on a CNC tool.

IP Rating:
All models within the 914CE series meet IP65, IP66, IP67, IP68. This ensures that they are completely dust tight, offer protection against jets of water and can be immersed in water up to 3 m.

NEMA Rating:
Every 914CE limit switch also meets NEMA 1, 2, 3, 3R, 4, 6, 6P and 13 requirements.

Type 1: Allows for indoor use and offers a dregree of protection against access to harzardous parts by personnel. Enclosures that meet NEMA 1 also protect the enclosure against foreign solid obkects(such as indoor dirt).
Type 2: Allows for indoor use and provides a degree of protection against access to hazardous parts. The enclosures provide a degree of protection against foreign objects (such as falling dirt) and the ingress of water (light dripping or splashing).
Type 3: Allows for indoor or outdoor use and provides a degree of protection against access to hazardous parts. The enclosures provide some protection from foreign objects (such as windblown dust) and the ingress of water (such as rain or snow). Enclosures that meet NEMA 3 offer protection against ice forming externally.
Type 3R: Allows for indoor or outdoor use and provides a degree of protection against access to hazardous parts. The enclosures primarily provide ingress protection against water (such as rain, snow or sleet). Enclosures that meet NEMA 3 offer protection against ice forming externally.
Type 4: Allows for indoor or outdoor use and provides a degree of protection against access to hazardous parts. The enclosures provide some protection from foreign objects (such as falling dirt and windblown dust) and the ingress of water (such as rain, snow or sleet alongside splashing water and hose directed water). Enclosures that meet NEMA 3 offer protection against ice forming externally.
Type 6: Allows for indoor or outdoor use and provides a degree of protection against access to hazardous parts. The enclosures provide some protection from foreign objects (such as falling dirt and windblown dust) and the ingress of water (such as rain, snow or sleet alongside splashing water and hose directed water). Enclosures that meet NEMA 4 offer protection against ice forming externally.
Type 6P: Allows for indoor or outdoor use and provides a degree of protection against access to hazardous parts. The enclosures provide some protection from solid objects (such as falling dirt and windblown dust) and the ingress of water (such as hose directed water). Enclosures that meet the NEMA 6P requirement also offer protection against water when being submerged at a limited depth.
Type 13: Enclosures that meet Type 13 are suited to harsh environments. Enclosures can be used indoors and provide protection against access to hazardous parts. They offer protection against solid objects such as falling dirt, windblown dirt, fibres and lint. They provide a level of protection from dripping and splashing water and other liquids such as the splashing, seepage and spraying of oil and non-corrosive coolants.
