This male SMA connector from our tried-and-tested RS PRO range is a sub-miniature radio-frequency (RF) connector that can be used to join a variety of coaxial cables together.

Coaxial cables (or coax cables) transmit RF signals from one point to another. You'll find them used in microwave systems, mobile telephone antennas and Wi-Fi networks. When joined with a female connector, this cable mount SMA connector allows you to link two coax cables together, offering reliable data transmission in the home or workplace.

SMA connectors typically accept small cables, so the frequency limit is determined by the connector itself. This particular connector has an operating frequency of 6 GHz and can be crimped onto RG174U cables.

The connector has a screw-type coupling mechanism that provides reliable connectivity. Its gold-plated brass body and centre contact are resistant to vibration and can withstand wear from repeated insertions.
