This RS PRO wire-wound resistor adds 220 Ω of resistance, limiting the flow of potentially harmful electricity to your components. You'll mainly find it in industrial environments such as manufacturing plants and building sites.
This resistor has a core of non-conductive material with metallic wire wound around it, which helps it stay compact for use in tight spaces. It's housed inside a conductive aluminium casing to ensure it dissipates heat quickly and allows for rapid cooling. For speedy installation, you can directly heat sink mount this axial-terminated resistor onto flat surfaces with a thermal compound or using screws in the pre-drilled holes.
This component complies with the 18546 United States Military Standard (MIL), meaning it's rigorously tested for safety. It's often used in large production machinery, load testing simulations and motor start-stop cycles.
