Schneider Electric Cable Ends

Schneider Electrics cable ends are commonly referred to as a crimp bootlace ferrule, they are comprised of tin-plated copper tubes that have been crimped (compressed for joining) over a standard wire to accomplish a reliable connection. This range of bootlace ferrules features a variety that has a colour coded insulation collar, this helps to protect the connection from contacts.

• Facilitates introduction unto the terminals
• Ends are packaged in small boxes of 100 pieces.
• Any bootlace ferrule that is colour coded allows the user to easily identify and access them

What is a Bootlace Ferrule?

These bootlace ferrules are moulded with a colour-coded insulating collar which is made up of plastic. The ferrule is slipped over the end of a multi-stranded wire or cable, crimped and then inserted into a screw or spring clamp connection. When a multi-stranded wire has been stripped and placed under a screw terminal, the strands of wire will naturally fan out due to the pressure of the screw, with some of the strands going completely astray - this dramatically reduces the quality of an electrical connection, it could also result in an electrical short. This is when a bootlace ferrule comes in to play, their flared design and insulated funnel restricts all the fanned-out strands. Once a bootlace ferrule has been applied, it is then crimped together with a crimp tool and inserted into a terminal to create the electrical connection.

Schneider Electric Crimp Bootlace Ferrule, Copper Construction, -20°C to +105°C Temperature Range - DZ5CE Series - DZ5CE100

Terminating stranded wires and seeking a method you can be sure of? Ensure a high level of contact reliability with this crimp bootlace ferrule from Schneider Electric. Simply slip it over the end of a wire to contain all of the strands safely. Once crimped in place with your chosen crimping tool, the copper tube provides a rugged protective shell for all the conductors inside. This prevents any strands from working loose, meaning you get a robust and electrically stable termination for spring and screw-clamp connections. You'll be especially glad of this durability boost when you're working with setups that need repeated connection and disconnection.

Features & Benefits

• Comes in a box of 100 units, so you get plenty to cover loads of jobs
• Works in a broad temperature range of -20°C to +105°C, making it a great shout in harsh environments
• Tin-plated copper material is highly conductive to ensure a top-quality connection

Applications

• Telecommunications networks
• Industrial automation
• Electrical engineering

What size cables can I use with this product?

The ferrule's 4.5mm diameter makes it suitable for any wire up to 10mm² or 8AWG, so it's compatible with commonly used conductors.
