Double Row Self - Aligning

Radial Self-Aligning Ball Bearing

These bearings are designed to accommodate shaft deflection when running and will also cope with initial misalignment. The double row bearing is designed primarily to withstand radial load with a small capacity for axial load. Also available with ring seals (rubbing seals) made from oil-resistant, non-wearing synthetic rubber with steel reinforcement on both sides (Type 2RS1).

Open Bearings

ETN9 and KTN9 are Open self-aligning bearings without a seal available in parallel or Taper bores.

Sealed bearings

2RS1TN9 are sealed (NBR) bearings packed with grease with a lithium thickener suitable for temperatures from -40°C to + 100°C. They are sealed for life, so should not be heated above 80°C before mounting and must not be washed out under any circumstances.

TN suffix denotes polyamide cage

SKF Ball Bearing, 25mm Inside Diameter, 52mm Outside Diameter - 2205 E-2RS1TN9

This ball bearing is a self-aligning variant designed for optimal performance in various mechanical applications. It has an inside diameter of 25mm and an outside diameter of 52mm, with a race width of 18mm. This sealed ball bearing is constructed from high-quality steel and features a non-metallic cage, ensuring durability and efficiency in operation.

Features & Benefits

• Self-aligning design minimises misalignments during operation
• Both sides sealed to protect against contaminants and enhance longevity
• Steel construction ensures robust performance and reliability
• Dynamic load rating of 14.3kN accommodates heavy loads
• Two rows of balls provide enhanced stability and load distribution
• CN clearance design allows for optimal operation under varying conditions

Applications

• Used for machinery requiring self-alignment capability
• Ideal for in the electrical and automation sectors
• Suitable for rotating equipment needing reduced friction
• Employed in both commercial and industrial environments

What are the advantages of a self-aligning ball bearing for machinery?

The self-aligning feature allows the bearing to compensate for misalignments, leading to smoother operation and reduced wear on components, which extends the overall equipment lifespan.

What load ratings should I consider when selecting a ball bearing for an application?

When selecting a ball bearing, the dynamic load rating of 14.3kN is crucial for applications subjected to variable loads, while the static load rating of 4kN ensures its endurance under stable conditions.

How does the sealing arrangement benefit the bearing's performance?

The sealed design prevents the ingress of dirt and moisture, which can damage internal components, thus enhancing the bearing’s reliability and reducing maintenance needs over time.

What implications does the non-metallic cage have on performance?

The non-metallic cage not only reduces friction but also contributes to a lighter design, improving overall efficiency in high-speed applications and ensuring quieter operation.

What should I know about the limiting speed for this bearing?

The limiting speed of this bearing is rated at 9000r/min, making it suitable for high-speed applications while maintaining performance and integrity under typical operating conditions.
