RS PRO 50 VA Enclosed Autotransformer, 230 V AC Primary, 115 V AC Secondary
The RS PRO enclosed autotransformer offers a way to effectively step power supply voltages down. As it has a primary voltage rating of 220 V AC, 230 V AC or 240 V AC and a secondary voltage rating of 115 V AC, it's useful for powering US equipment at higher European voltages.
Thanks to the autotransformer's four-hole fixings and compact design, it's easy to install in a variety of locations. It features a varnish-impregnated coil to boost its dielectric strength, and it's fully shrouded to reduce electrical interference. It has a protective cover on its terminal blocks and has undergone comprehensive electrical and flash testing to ensure safety when used at high voltages.
You'll find this autotransformer suitable for a variety of tasks, including starting induction motors and regulating transmission line voltage. It does not provide isolation from the mains.
