PET-G also offers high impact strength, excellent flexibility and practically no shrinkage, making it a highly versatile material that combines the advantages of both ABS (acrylonitrile butadiene styrene) and PLA (polylactic acid) plastics. PETG is also a hydrophobic filament meaning it does not absorb water. In short, PET-G has a wide range of beneficial features and is the perfect addition to any filament assortment. PET-G is a highly versatile and cost effective type of plastic material that can be used in a wide range of applications, as well as being fully recyclable. It offers excellent durability, corrosion and chemical resistance and is odour neutral.

Whilst they both offer similar benefits and compositions, PET and PET-G have some very distinct differences. PET-G includes "glycol", allowing the plastic material to remain clear without hazing or crystallising during the heating process, that can often occur when PET is treated. The addition of this chemical compound also ensures that the material can remain flexible yet highly durable. Furthermore PET-G is also suitable for lab use as it can withstand harsh sterilisation processes.

The recommended temperature for heated bed is ± 60-80˚C.
