RS Formula Student Funding

Formula Student gives students the opportunity to apply their academic knowledge to practical engineering challenges. Teams gain experience in areas including design, testing, product selection, project management, teamwork and problem-solving.

Applications for the next funding round will open in November.

Teams will be asked to explain:

• Their project objectives and technical ambitions
• The engineering challenges they are working to solve
• The products and equipment they need
• How RS support will improve their vehicle’s performance, safety or reliability
• The skills and experience team members hope to develop

Engineers of Tomorrow: Formula Student Funding is designed to help students learn by doing.

Teams are encouraged to identify their technical requirements, justify their product choices and demonstrate how RS support will contribute to their project and long-term capabilities.

Selected teams will also have opportunities to share their progress, technical learning and product experiences through DesignSpark, helping other students and engineering teams learn from their successes and challenges.

The 2026 funding round received 137 applications from 33 countries, our largest response to date.

Successful teams each received £1,000 in RS products to help bring their vehicles to life. Supported teams will share their progress, technical learning and product experiences through DesignSpark.

Engineers of Tomorrow is RS’s global youth programme, enabled by the RS Better World Fund. It connects RS’s products, people, expertise and partnerships with practical opportunities that help young people prepare for careers in engineering and technology.
