The DiodesZetex Step down DC/DC converter designed to drive LEDs with a constant current. It operates with an input supply voltage from 5V to 55V and provides an externally adjustable output current up to 1A. Series connection of the LEDs provides identical LED currents resulting in uniform brightness and eliminating the need for ballast resistors. The switches at frequency up to 1MHz. This allows the use of smaller size external components, hence minimizing the PCB size.
