Bourns TBU High Speed Circuit Protector, DT Series

The TBU-DT series of Bourns TBU are low capacitance dual unidirectional high speed surge protectors designed to
protect against faults caused by short circuits, induction and lightning surges and AC power cross. These TBU circuit protectors will trip in less than 1 μs when the current reaches the maximum value in one direction. The TBU DT series circuit protector blocks sudden surges in voltage or current and provides a barrier behind which electronics will not be exposed to damage. Post surge, the TBU device resets when the voltage across the TBU device falls to the Vreset level. Typical applications include Ethernet ports, protection modules, dongles and process control equipment.

Superior circuit protection
Overcurrent and overvoltage protection
Blocks surges up to rated limits
High speed performance
Small SMT package
Operating temperature range -40°C → +85°C

Note

Maximum voltage shown is peak impulse voltage withstand with a duration of no more than 10ms.

Surface Mount Technology

Resettable fuses are designed for the protection of electrical and electronic circuits against excessive currents. They switch rapidly from a low resistance to very high resistance state under electrical overload or short circuit conditions, and feature automatic reset and return to low resistance state when fault condition ceases and power is removed.

Maintenance free automatic reset for thousands of cycles
Small size and no fuseholder required

Main applications

Security systems
Power supplies and transformers
Power switching devices
Automotive and medical equipment
Instrumentation and control
Computers and peripherals
Audio visual and telecommunications
