As the probe has a wide temperature range between -127°C and +600°C, it's a suitable option for use in extreme environments. You can use it easily by connecting it to a compatible Type K measuring device and applying the probe tip to any flat or slightly convex surface.

Does using the probe affect the temperature of the surface being measured?


Using the probe can reduce the temperature minimally in the immediate contact area. At +600°C, the contact point won't be reduced by more than 2°C. There's generally less heat loss on clean and thermally conductive surfaces.
