The SKF Needle roller thrust bearings are supplied as separate components. They are made of spring steel and hardened, and both faces of the washers are polished and can be used as raceways. The washers can provide cost-effective solutions, if the adjacent machine components are not hardened, but have adequate stiffness, and the requirements to run-out are moderate. They can be used as shaft or housing washers for AXK series bearings, and as shaft washers for AXW series bearings.
